Professional Nationwide Boat Shipping Services

(855) 313-3171

Coast-to-Coast Logistics You Can Trust

At Allstates Auto Shipping (AAS), we specialize in more than just four wheels. Our Boat Shipping services provide secure, nationwide transport for everything from weekend runabouts and luxury yachts to jet skis and commercial fishing vessels. Using specialized trailers and expert logistics, we ensure your boat arrives at the dock or your driveway ready for the water.

Our Boat Transport Methods

We tailor our equipment to the size and type of your watercraft:

  • Overland Trailering: The most common method for boats under 26 feet. We can haul your boat on its own trailer or provide one of our specialized transport trailers.
  • Lowboy & Flatbed Hauling: For oversized boats or those without trailers, we use heavy-duty lowboy rigs to manage height and width restrictions safely.
  • Ro-Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off): Ideal for larger vessels that need to be towed onto a ship for coastal or international relocation.
  • Enclosed Specialty Transport: For jet skis or small high-value boats that require 100% protection from road debris.

Pre-Transport Checklist: Preparing Your Boat

To ensure a smooth pickup and damage-free journey, follow these 2026 AAS Preparation Steps:

  1. Secure All Items: Remove or securely stow all loose gear, cushions, and electronics below deck.
  2. Drain Fluids: Drain all fuel and water tanks. Remove hull drain plugs to ensure no water is trapped in the bilge.
  3. Measure Accurately: Verify your total height (including the trailer) is under 13'6" to avoid bridge clearance issues.
  4. Disconnect Batteries: Secure all cables and disconnect the power supply.
  5. Clean the Hull: Ensure the bottom is free of growth or invasive species like zebra mussels to comply with interstate DOT regulations.

Boat Shipping FAQ: Everything You Need to Know

Boat on the back of a auto carrier truck on a street

1. How much does it cost to ship a boat?

Pricing is based on distance and dimensions. While length matters, the beam (width) and height are the biggest factors. Vessels wider than 8'6" require oversize permits, and those over 12' wide may require a certified escort, which affects the final quote.free journey.

2. How do I accurately measure my boat for transport?

Accuracy is critical for bridge clearance and legal permits.

  • Overall Length: Measure from the tip of the bow to the center of the stern (include swim platforms and outboard motors in the "up" position).
  • Beam (Width): Measure the widest part of the boat, including the rub rail.
  • Height: Measure from the bottom of the keel to the highest non-removable point. The total loaded height must be at or under 13'6" to stay on major interstate routes.

3. Is my boat insured during the journey?

Yes. Every AAS boat shipment is covered by our high-limit Cargo Insurance. For luxury yachts or high-value vessels, we can increase coverage on a per-need basis to ensure your full investment is protected from pickup to delivery.notch service.

4. Can you ship a boat on its own trailer?

Absolutely. We can tow your boat on its trailer, provided the trailer is roadworthy. Our drivers will perform a safety check on the tires, hub bearings, and lights before departure. If you don't have a trailer, we utilize our specialized lowboy or hydraulic boat trailers.

5. Should I shrink-wrap my boat?

We recommend shrink-wrapping for long-distance hauls to protect against road grime and debris. However, it must be done professionally. If the wrap is loose, the high-speed winds on the highway can cause it to tear and potentially damage the boat’s gel coat.courteous.

6. Do I need to be present for pickup and delivery?

We offer elegant and reliable wedding transportation services to make your special day even more memorable. Our vehicles are well-maintained and our drivers are experienced in providing top-notch service.
